An important challenge for today’s educators is ensuring that students acquire and master the manifold skills which will enable them to succeed and adapt in a constantly changing world. Here we often refer to 21st century skills which can be broken down into a series of so-called hard and soft skills. Though it may be obvious to students that hard skills such as IT and proficiency in foreign languages are essential in many ways, the importance of soft skills such as teamwork, critical thinking, creativity etc. may be considerably more difficult to convey. In addition, the skills required become more diverse and complex where different cultures meet and interact. This group aims to explore the possibilities of teaching 21st century skills to students in innovative and inspiring ways, where the focus is on skills in an intercultural context.
